Marx Toys is currently filling backorders for Johnny West, and taking new orders on their website.  Shipping date for new orders is July 3rd.

Captain Action Article in Comic Book Marketplace Issue #79   21 June 00
We don't have a copy yet, but we have heard there is a three page article on Captain Action in the latest issue of Comic Book Marketplace.  We will have more details once we get our hands on it.

Johnny West Due Today   20 June 00
According to the Marx Toys website, today is the day of the Johnny West release, which will be available through their website for $39.99 and select retailers.  The Johnny West reissue is a follow up to their Nobel Knights re-release (see our review).  You can find information on the Johnny West series at the Vintage Toy Room. Playing Mantis to Make Announcement at Comicon  16 June 00

We have just heard the latest from Gwen over at Playing Mantis regarding the Retro boxed Green Hornet and Kato Uniform and Accessory sets.  Here is a direct quote:

The Green Hornet and Kato pics are up on the web site (PlayingMantis.com). I've also got an update on their release date. They should make it to the states 7/14 - sorry it's a little later than I had thought. Then they go to Diamond, who takes over. Given the time it took to get KA and the Lone Ranger out there, I would look for them in mid-late August. I saw some early samples of the production stuff, and it looks fantastic! I really think this is the nicest set to come out to date

Vintage Captain Action Commercial On VHS UPDATE  9 June 00
Just to set the record straight:  There are two versions of the Captain Action TV commercial. The version over at Yesterdayland is longer and has the complete song with the lyrics, while the version on VHS over at Picpal is shorter and doesn't have the singing (except for when they say "Captain Action").  I'll have MPEGs of both up on the site in a few days.

Captain Action Silver Streak Hideout  7 June 00
We have just got our hands on some very cool pics of the Sears exclusive Silver Streak Hideout.  In case you were not sure, the Silver Streak is an amphibious vehicle designed for Captain Action, and available in an exclusive Hideout box only from Sears.  Of course this was all thirty years ago so don't expect to see it in their latest catalogue.  Anyway, we threw them together on a page so you could enjoy them too.  Its all right here: Silver Streak Hideout
