GI Joe Dog Tags:
How to Spot A Vintage
29 May 00
The Masterpiece GI Joe dogs
tags have always been considered indistinguishable from the vintage ones.
Chris Smith sent us this interesting piece of info that can help you tell
them apart:
On
the VINTAGE Dog Tags, the Joe 'Head' dotting the 'J' is VERY distinct.
Both front and back, his mouth in particular is identifiable. On the NEW
Dog Tags, the Joe 'Head' is not nearly as defined, AND, the mouth is barely
distinguishable on the front, and NOT AT ALL on the back.

The Original Super-Hero Action Figure: Book Update
15 May 00
Michael Eury, Author of
Captain Action: TOSHAF, has provided us with some info regarding the book's
status. In a nutshell the publishing company, Studio Chikara, remains
committed to publication, however in order to meet costs they are going
with an overseas printer. This results in a projected release sometime
this winter. You can read all about it in the author's own words
right here: Captain
Action Update. Special thanks to Mr. Eury for sharing this with
us, and to all of you who wrote to the publisher to encourage the release
of this book. You have been heard!

Save Your Boxtops,
They Could be Worth Something
04 May 00
Back in the day before UPC
codes, we used to have to send in our boxtops to get free stuff.
What does that have to do with anything? Well, one astute reader
noticed that the code numbers on the boxtop (and bottom) scans were not
right. They have been corrected and now all your printouts should
look authentic.
The Tape is Gone
03 May 00
Just touching up some of
the artwork for the classic costume boxes. It turns out that the
picture of the Lone Ranger had a piece of tape over it in the scan.
One of those things I always meant to take care of but I figured I would
wait until someone noticed <g>. Anyway, the box backs are cleaner
now and should print out really well. Check it out under the Captain
Action icon in the icon bar.

Captain America Boxart Scans are Now Online
01 May 00
Well its finally starting
to feel like spring out there (around here anyway) and we have put together
some very cool scans to spring on you. Spring, get it? OK,
that was pretty weak, but the artwork on the Captain America box is certainly
not. Featuring the stylings of the inimitable Jack Kirby, the vintage
Captain Action Captain America box is a must have in your collection.
