Captain Action Sized 'Batmobile' - Review  26 Dec 01
If you have been snooping around Ebay lately, you might have noticed this "JoeMobile" for sale.  The "Joemobile" is scaled to fit 12" action figures and bears an uncanny resemblance to the vehicle Adam West used to chauffeur Burt Ward around in.  Wes of Classic Plastick fame has been good enough to give us the low down on this unique item, including plenty of pictures.  Follow this link to read all about it:

Captain Action Song on MP3  10 Dec 01
There has been a request for the Captain Action song in MP3 format, so we have taken the audio from the long version of the commercial and converted it, and placed it online here:  Captain Action MP3  Its a pretty cool song, does anyone out there have it without the voice over?

The Final results of the Remove Zit Experiment  15 Nov 01
I finally got around to scraping off the last of the remove-zit and pictures of the results are now online.  This late breaking story and more can be found right here :  The Great Remove-Zit Experiment

Reproduction Decals for Captain Action's Silver Streak  30 Oct  01
One of the problems facing most amphibious vehicles is that after time their decals tend to get loose and brittle from all that water.  Add 30 years in a basement to the mix and what you have is a need for a replacement.  We have recently come across reproduction decals for the Silver Streak logo that are a dead ringer for the originals.  Here is a picture of a repro decal on a streak.  For more info Email probecontrol@sigecom.net

Corgi issues the Green Hornet's Black Beauty  17 Oct  01
Corgi's Black Beauty is back, this time with a twist, its 1:36 scale and includes a Kato Figure. Sorry, there is no issue with a Green Hornet figure.  Looks like Bruce Lee's popularity still overshadows Van Williams's.  Its not a reissue of the original 1:24 scale, it is a completely new tooling.  Take a look at Corgi's official website for pics and more info, follow the link for TV & Film:  Corgi's Wesbite

The Third Application of Remove Zit  30 Sept 01
If you have been following the great Remove-Zit experiment then you are probably wondering what happened since the last application.  Well the results are in and things are starting to look very promising.  See for yourself as the experiment continues: The Great Remove-Zit Experiment

Dr Evil with his Disguises and Weapons M.I.B   20 Sept 01
Its up on Ebay and the auction ends on the 22nd.  This is the first one of these we recall for sale on Ebay in the 4 plus years that we have been prowling the auctions there (Have there been others?  If you know drop us a line).  According to the seller this one has never been opened, and comes from a box of six that he had.  Its really amazing, its a pity the pictures aren't better.  Still, its a rare chance to see one of these complete (and perhaps even own one!)

A Note of Sympathy   19 Sept 01
We here at Games and Beyond would like to send out our heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims of last Tuesday's attack.

And the Winner is... Quick Contest Results   8 Sept 01
According to the Roadshow site all you have to do is "Put a mask on Captain Action and he becomes his arch-nemisis, Doctor Evil!"  For those of you who looked but didn't catch this little oversight, its just below the picture of Dr Evil on the third page of the series.  Kudos to those of you who caught it, not only have you all shown a fine knowledge of Captain Action, but a sharp eye as well.  Alas, I can't give a prize to everyone, and the name that was pulled out of the hat was Herb Foster, winner of the Playing Mantis Phantom set.  Thanks to everyone who participated.

Appraise it Yourself: A Quick Captain Action Contest   4 Sept 01
Remember a few months back when we spotted Dr Evil on the Antiques roadshow?  Well, while digging around the Antique Roadshow Website we came across a pop quiz based on the appraisal of Dr Evil done on the show.  It talks about the market impact of the Playing Mantis reissues, and goes into a little bit about some things that distinguish Captain Action.  It also contains a glaring error!  It might contain a few errors but one really stands out.  So tell you what we are gonna do.  Take their quiz, spot the error, and Email us here at Games and Beyond.  We will pick one person from all the correct entries and we will send them a Brand New in the Retro Box Captain Action Phantom Uniform and Equipment set!  The contest ends on Friday the 7th at noon so get in your Email right away.  Good Luck.  Here is the link to the Antiques Roadshow:
